climate protection

Our fashion should not only be fairly produced, but also climate-friendly. That's why we've set ourselves measurable climate targets – based on scientific research and with a clear direction until 2030.

Because the fashion industry is among the world's highest-emitting industries, we see it as part of our corporate responsibility to systematically contribute to reducing emissions.

Our goal: By 2030 we will reduce our CO₂ emissions by 50% compared to the base year 2024.In doing so, we primarily focus on our buildings, vehicles, and energy consumption. We are therefore halving our footprint within our own operations.

We measure our emissions according to the common GHG standard and have them verified by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

Scope 1

Direct emissions

These are emissions that we ourselves directly cause – for example, through our own and rented vehicles. In 2024, we emitted 3.053 tons of CO₂.
For comparison: According to the German Federal Environment Agency, the average German emits 10.4 tons of CO₂ per year.

Scope 2

Indirect emissions

These are emissions that arise indirectly when we consume energy. For example, the electricity for our shop or the heating in the offices.
In 2024 we emitted 6,685 tons of CO₂ indirect emissions.

Goals by 2030

We have always operated with a lean and sustainable approach. Nevertheless, we would like to... Reduce direct and indirect emissions by 50% by 2030So instead of a total of 9.74 tons of CO₂, only 4.87 tons of CO₂ will be emitted. We will report on our progress here transparently on an annual basis.

We don't believe in perfect solutions, but in honest steps in the right direction. That's what our climate goals stand for.

Initial successes

Green electricity

Since November 2024, we have been using green electricity in our new office in Halle (Saale), just as we already do in our design office in Essen. Next, we will also switch to green electricity in our retail store.

E-Autos

Two of our three company vehicles are already fully electric. With the expiration of the last lease in 2026, we will convert our entire fleet to electric cars. We are also generally driving less and making our work as efficient and digital as possible.

At a glance

You can only improve what you measure. Our emissions data helps us to take targeted measures and reduce our climate impact.

Greenhouse gases like CO₂ contribute to global warming. We group all gases together in CO₂e Together – this means “CO₂ equivalent” and makes the values comparable.

Scope 1 includes all direct emissions, which arise from our own activities – e.g., company vehicles or heating systems.

Scope 2 includes emissions that were generated during the Electricity generation arises, which we purchase – for example, for our shop.

For smaller companies, Scope 3 is often difficult to measure because much of the data comes from supply chains. We focus first on areas we can directly influence: Scope 1 & 2.

The GHG Protocol is the globally recognized standard for calculating corporate emissions. We use this standard to ensure transparent and comparable reporting.

The Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) It checks whether companies' climate targets are scientifically sound. Our targets have been validated by the SBTi.

We want our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions reduced by 50% by 2030 reduce compared to 2024.
